Mary Louise Hull

Associate Professor Louise Hull has worked in fertility services since she graduated as a doctor in 1991. She became Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (FRANZCOG) and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist (CREI) after gaining clinical experience in Christchurch, New Zealand, Cambridge and Somerset in the UK, and in Adelaide Australia. She currently undertakes clinical work at Women’s and Children’s Hospital, O & G private practice ( and FertilitySA in Adelaide. Associate Professor Hull completed a PhD s in Endometriosis at the University of Cambridge, and currently leads the Endometriosis Group and Fertility and Conception Theme at the Robinson Research Institute, University of Adelaide (, where she promotes the development of improved fertility treatments through research and education. She has a special interest in developing treatments to improve outcomes for fertility patients, couples suffering from recurrent miscarriage and women with endometriosis. Louise supervises PhD and honour’s students, teaches medical students, General Practitioners, registrars and fellows and was an Associate Editor for Human Reproduction. Dr Hull is widely published, frequently speaks at national and international meetings and has been awarded numerous grants and awards for her research. In 2009 Dr Hull was a founding member of Fertility SA (an IVF unit in South Australia) and had roles as their Scientific Director, New Developments Director and ran their Education Programme. Louise has been a member of 6 international consensus group on endometriosis, a participant at the round table to develop a National Action Plan for Endometriosis and is an ambassador for the World Endometriosis Society ( She is on the Medical Advisory Committee for ASPIRE, chaired and International workshop on Implantation in Bangkok 2018 and leads the ASPIRE special interest group on Implantation. Associate Professor Hull is also the Treasurer of ANZSREI, a member of the the CREI examinations committee, chairs the AGES grant committee and is Deputy Chair of the RANZCOG grant committee. She sits on the board of 2 commercial companies.
