Thomas J Cade

Dr Cade is an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist working at the Royal Women's Public Hospital and St Vincent's Private Hospital in Melbourne. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, the Head of Diabetes at the Royal Women's Hospital and sits on the Board of Examiners for RANZCOG. He has a Doctorate in Medical Science with his thesis exploring the management of gestational diabetes and the health outcomes and economic implications in doing so. He was awarded the Luke Proposch Perinatal Research Scholarship from RANZCOG for this work. Dr Cade's ongoing research commitments are within the department of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Royal Women's Hospital and he is currently midway through a Masters in Medical Statistics, thus currently acting more in an advisory role. His ongoing interests in diabetes research include assessing longer term outcomes of mothers and babies with gestational diabetes and exploring more cost effective models of care for low risk women.
